The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak may currently be accessible to gamers in North America and Europe, but game creators Falcom aren’t resting on their laurels. Instead, they're pressing forward with a sequel, The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki – Farewell, O Zemuria. This new title is slated for release on PS4 and PS5 in Japan this year, and it sees characters like Van Arkride embarking on a new journey to Ored to potentially thwart the destruction of Zemuria.

Given the high-risk environment, it's logical that characters from previous games, such as Trails of Cold Steel, are appearing. Details unveiled by Falcom (sourced from Gematsu) indicate that central character Rean Schwarzer will reappear, along with Crow Armbrust and Altina Orion from the Class VII cohort.

Fie Claussel also returns following her involvement in Trails Through Daybreak and the anticipated sequel Trails Through Daybreak 2. Another character making a comeback is Towa Herschel, known for her continual support throughout the series, who finds herself journeying to an observatory once explored by her grandparents.

In Kai no Kiseki, each of the characters embarks on a unique journey. Rean, for instance, is summoned to the Republic of Calvard under mysterious circumstances while Altina carries out an assignment for the Epstein Foundation. Crow teams up with Marduk Total Security Company, based in Ored, an area interestingly also visited by Van and the crew, promising some captivating encounters.

The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki – Farewell, O Zemuria is due for release in Japan on September 26. Until then, fans can look forward to the early 2025 release of Trails through Daybreak 2, scheduled for launch on PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
