HexaDrive, the creator behind the notable Silent Hill: The Short Message, is devising an original horror game boasting a 'Japanese-style' theme. A new cryptic teaser, awash in the tints of sepia, portrays a classic Japanese residence. Imminently, at approximately nine seconds in, viewers can spot the emergence of a tentacle, followed swiftly by an underwater passage.

The narrative, as underscored by the teaser's description, unfolds around a central character that finds themselves thrust into an 'unknown world'. The task for the gamers is to navigate this protagonist back to their home, tackling a myriad of puzzles and enigmas and eluding menacing creatures along the way. The announced date for this exciting new offering is slated for July 19 at BitSummit Drift, located in Miyako Messe, Kyoto, Japan. Moreover, from July 19 to 21, eager gamers will have the opportunity to have a go at the upcoming game at the developer’s booth.

BitSummit Drift is not exclusive to HexaDrive's impending title but will showcase over a hundred entries from independent developers. This roster includes Hotel Barcelona from White Owls (the minds behind Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise), Chicken Police: Into the HIVE! by The Wild Gentleman, and Tokyo Underground Killer by Phoenix Game Productions (the team responsible for the Resident Evil 4 remake).
