Renowned Italian game designer Davide Soliani has decided to step away from Ubisoft. He spent a quarter of a century with the company and oversaw the much-loved Mario + Rabbids series production from Ubisoft Milan in collaboration with Nintendo for 11 years.

Soliani expressed his gratitude and goodbye in a statement on Twitter, revealing that this exit is a precursor to some new journey he aims to undertake. The specifics remain under wraps for the time being, but he is grateful for everything thus far.

Ubisoft Milan, the main group behind the Mario + Rabbids series creation, also acknowledged Soliani's exit on Twitter. The company wished him well, mentioning that while their paths might diverge, they remain committed to creating delightful and fun experiences for gamers, the mission both parties have always shared.

The studio expressed their optimism about future projects, hoping that Soliani would appreciate the surprises they have in store for the players, which is in line with his lessons about valuable gaming experiences.

Apart from his role as the creative head for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, Soliani also contributed to several other major Ubisoft titles, such as Rainbow Six, Just Dance, Beyond Good and Evil, Open Season, and others. The future awaits Soliani, as he has yet to reveal his next destination after Ubisoft.
